It’s 1999. Nine year old energetic Alex is out bowling with his nerdy father Bennet whom he couldn’t feel less related to, his abrasive and irreverent Uncle John that he feels he must idolize, his deadpan cousin Hailee whom he hasn’t seen in years and his sensitive, potentially drunk Grandpa Jack. Across this night of bowling Alex struggles to find his place within his family and in the world. To find a connection he must bring his dysfunctional family together, even in ways that may seem…unconventional.
